The South Beach diet program is among the most popular methods of losing weight today. It is built around lifestyle and diet changes that help you steadily lose weight. By avoiding "bad" fats and carbohydrates and eating plenty of "good" ones, dieters can lose weight without sacrificing their health or feeling deprived.

There are three phases in the South Beach diet plan. During phase one, dieters avoid all carbs except for vegetables. Although several foods are restricted, dieters still have a wide range of foods they can eat. The first phase is the most demanding phase, but also the shortest since it only goes on for fourteen days. Dieters are expected to lose between eight to twelve pounds during this stage.

In phase two, dieters begin adding the previously banned carb-rich foods into their meals. Dieters can expect to lose 1 to 2 pounds each week while slowly increasing the amount of carbs they eat. Phase two lasts until dieters arrive at their goal weight.

Phase three is the maintenance phase. Dieters take the strategies from phase two to keep their ideal weight throughout the rest of their lives. If dieters begin to regain weight, they are able to go back to phase one of the diet.

It is likely that you have seen pre-packaged South Beach meals and snacks in the grocery store. These items are very convenient, but you don't need to spend money on them in order to follow the diet. You only need to commit to the various general rules for each phase of the plan.

During the first phase of the diet, you can eat lean meats, such as fish, turkey, and chicken, eggs, most vegetables, nuts, and a small quantity of dairy products. Fruit juices and fruit are not eaten during this phase because they are high in sugar. Also restricted are all carbs, fatty meats, alcohol, and a few vegetables that are rather high in sugar or carbohydrate content, such as beets. The point of this phase is to cut "bad" carbs from your diet and start the weight loss process.

During the second phase, dieters gradually reintroduce fruit, whole grains, and other banned foods into their diet. In the process, dieters learn how to balance their diet strategies to keep a desirable weight. Once this is successfully accomplished, the diet moves into the lifetime phase, in which dieters try to maintain the healthy habits that helped them reach their goal weight.

The factor for success with the South Beach program is dedication to healthy eating. Although that appears simple, this diet program and most other diet plans fail because dieters abandon the diet before the plan can achieve results. The struggles that most dieters have with weight loss often come from deeper issues such as a lack of drive to lose weight, a habit of eating too much, or an inability to control the appetite. Fortunately, all of these issues can be resolved with techniques that anyone can learn from a high quality hypnosis weight loss CD program.

To treat a lack of motivation, practices from a tool called Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) will help give you a powerful urge to stay on track with your weight loss goals.

First, dieters identify precisely what it is that is most valuable to them, as a person. This is called their "highly valued criteria." Then, NLP techniques are employed to make the dieters feel that by losing weight, their highly valued criteria will become enhanced. An alternative is to make the dieter feel that if they don't lose weight, their highly valued criteria will be placed in jeopardy.

Motivation is created by what we believe, not by logic! So in the above case, let's say that the dieter's most valued criterion is that the dieter's kids are happy and safe. Using an NLP tool called Submodalities, we can guide the dieter into feeling that if he or she fails to lose weight, the kids will be condemned to follow the parent's lead and they will also be fat and unhappy. This idea will provide a powerful urge and feeling to stick to a diet and take the weight off.

Many NLP techniques can help to reduce or even entirely remove the impulses and cravings that force one to eat too much. This works very effectively to help dieters stay on the initial and most challenging days of the South Beach diet. Furthermore, helps dieters stick to an exercise program, which will enhance the usefulness of any diet.

Stress is an issue that frequently drives people to overeat or neglect their well-being, but relaxation can be provided by both hypnosis and NLP techniques. One such tool is called the NLP Flash. With the NLP Flash, having the unconscious use stress-causing thoughts as triggers for positive thoughts eliminates the stress that causes the desire to eat too much.

Out-of-control eating habits often cause men and women to put on weight. A lot of people have seemingly out-of-control eating habits because over the years, they have developed a "conditioned response" to eat under certain circumstances. For instance, many of us snack in front of the television even when we aren't really hungry. The good thing is, hypnosis and NLP contain techniques that can rapidly extinguish these conditioned behaviors. These techniques create appetite suppression without the use of pills or drugs.

By treating the main issues that prevent people from shedding weight, hypnosis and NLP has helped many people finally get in the best shape of their lives. Combined with the South Beach weight loss program, dieters are able to enjoy natural weight loss and triumph at reaching their fitness goals.
